We originally rescued June along with her littermates back in 2019 when they were all just cute little puppies. It was believed that the parents were probably some mix of Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd, and possibly Akbash. June and her sister Tanya Tucker look very much like Akbash dogs, while three others look like Great Pyrenees and two more look like Anatolians. We can't say for sure what's in their DNA, except June is 100% good girl.

June was adopted as a puppy and grew up on a cattle ranch. She was happy in that life, but when her family sold the cattle and moved into the city, she was NOT so happy. She dug under the fence multiple times, and the family was worried that she could get hit by a car in their suburban neighborhood. So with sadness, they brought her back to us. Here, June has seemed very happy in the house. We're not sure whether it was just the noise of the city home that bothered her, but here, she goes out into the yard for potty business and then is ready to come right back inside.

June is OK around other dogs but doesn't really seem interested in playing with them or even making friends among them. There were cats and small children (age 3 and under) in her previous home and she was fine with them. In the few weeks that June has been back at Windsong Ranch, we see that she is sweet and sensitive and extremely affectionate with people. She wants to be close to us, whether that's curled up napping on the floor next to the desk as we work, or snuggling with us on the sofa at the end of the day. June freely goes into a crate for meal times and overnight -- she seems to view the crate as a quiet space away from the hectic activity of our home, which is filled with dogs and puppies. We think June would be perfectly happy as an only dog, but she has lived in peace with other dogs for literally her entire life.

If June sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please complete the application on our website today!
